Establishment of the Campbell Edwards Trust

Establishment of the Campbell Edwards Trust

In 1922, Robert established the Campbell Edwards Trust for religious, educational and charitable purposes, and transferred significant land holdings and shares as the initial trust assets. He was the original chairman and trustee with six other appointees.

Robert died in 1946 at the age of 84 after a life-time spent helping the less fortunate. A passionate idealist and visionary, he lived according to the ethic of always looking after others in need.  Today his work is carried on through the Campbell Edwards Trust.

With particular thanks to O.S. Green, author of ‘The Ensign Bearer(Robert Campbell Edwards 1862 – 1946), first published in 1981. A copy of this is available here.
